Don't Trust the Zestimate

Don't Trust the Zestimate

Thinking about buying a home?

You've probably looked at more than a few Zillow zestimates! But what is a zestimate, and how accurate is it? A zestimate is a computer-generated estimation of a home's value, based on public data and algorithms.

It can be a good starting point for understanding the value of your home, but it is FAR FROM PERFECT! Zillow itself admits that zestimates are accurate within plus or minus 5% of the actual sale price about 50% of the time. That means that half the time, the zestimate will be off by more than 5%.

So if you're thinking about bidding on a home, don't rely too heavily on a home's zestimate.

When you're ready, work with an expert realtor who can help you navigate the process and help you make a winning bid!

Don’t overpay for your next home!
