Does a Recession Equal a Market Crash?

Does a Recession Equal a Market Crash?

As a realtor, I'm often asked whether a recession will lead to a crash in the housing market. The answer is NO!

While it's true that recessions can lead to declines in home prices, this doesn't necessarily mean that there will be a crash. A crash occurs when prices plunge suddenly and dramatically, which is NOT what typically happens during a recession. Instead, prices tend to fall gradually over time.

So while a recession will put an end to the red hot market we have been seeing, it doesn't necessarily mean that there will be a crash. If you have any questions or want to learn more about the current market, let’s chat!
